Our team was chosen to develop the case study for the 2024 GSS/AEM Graduate Case Study competition at the annual Agricultural and Applied Economics Association (AAEA) conference, the premier agricultural economics conference. This competition was held in New Orleans on July 28, 2024.

Our case study explores the economic and financial implications of adopting an automatic milking system (AMS) on a Midwest dairy farm. While the farm featured in our case study is fictional, it is a realistic model built for educational purposes and can be used for students and outreach efforts. The data for this study is based on accurate and anonymized information from an actual dairy farm in the US Midwest, ensuring that students’ findings are both relevant and credible.
