Dr. Luis presents our dairy case study at La Molina University

On July 4, 2025, Dr. Luis Peña-Lévano was invited by the National Agrarian University La Molina (Peru) to deliver an academic talk on his case study, “Automated Milking Systems,” which received top honors at the IFAMA 2025 World Conference. The event was organized at the invitation of Prof. Leoncio Fernández, a faculty member at the university.
Although it was not Peña-Lévano’s first visit to the institution, it was the first time he presented his case study to students. The teaching case, specially translated into Spanish for the occasion, offered a unique academic opportunity for both the speaker and attendees.
The session gathered approximately 40 students from the programs of marketing, economics, and zootechnics, all eager to learn more about current technological advancements benefiting dairy farmers.
The presentation started around 11:10 a.m., initially with 20 students scheduled to attend. However, as the talk progressed, more students joined in, quickly surpassing the classroom’s capacity, and the attendees had to be relocated to a larger space. The turnout exceeded expectations, showing the impact of the topic.
Throughout the session, Dr. Peña Lévano not only shared valuable insights on the benefits and challenges of automated milking systems but also encouraged critical analysis through a real-life case study. The 90-minute presentation was praised for its instructional approach, current data, and practical relevance.
The event concluded with a series of appreciative remarks from the students, a dynamic exchange of ideas, and a group photograph. The meeting ended with a group photograph and the speaker’s assurance to return on another occasion.
